What time does the school day start and end?
The school day starts at 8:45pm and ends at 3:25pm. Early dismissal is at 12:05.
Where can I find bus information?
There is a new transportation app called Stopfinder that the district will be using to share bus schedules, route information, and transportation updates.
Can you tell me more about the breakfast & lunch program?
Breakfast is free for all students in the 2025-2026 school year. It can be picked up in the cafeteria during arrival (8:30-8:45am). Lunch is available daily in the cafeteria at a cost of $2.65 per student.

You may be eligible for free/reduced lunch. To apply, visit https://www.schoolcafe.com/WissahickonSD.
You can manage your lunch account using My School Bucks. You can also send a check made out to "WSD Cafeteria" and include your student's ID number in the memo line.

What clearances do I need to volunteer in the classroom?
Room parents, field trip chaperones, and volunteer working closely with children will need clearances. Event volunteers and mystery readers generally do not require background checks. To fill out the appropriate forms click here.
How do I become a room parent?
Your child's individual teacher will have sign-ups at their back-to-school night requesting room parent volunteers. They generally choose two parents from each classroom. If you are not chosen, you still have plenty of opportunities to get involved. Consider joining one of our committees or volunteering for a school event.
How can my business help support the HSA?
Please consider becoming a community sponsor for an event like Boosterthon, donating goods or services, hosting a dine and donate, or giving a charitable donation. See our community sponsor page for more info.
How does the HSA support our teachers?
The HSA provides stipends for our teachers to purchase school supplies, offers teacher grants to fund special projects, hosts several teacher appreciation events throughout the year, and provides room parent volunteers to help with classroom activities and field trips. We also assist our ENCORE teachers with after school events like the school musical, concerts, art show, and field day.
What programs and events do the HSA fund?
The HSA funds all school assemblies, field day, after school family events, teacher appreciation programs, and subsidizes class field trips, reading olympics. We partner with the Guidance team to provide aid for families in need and scholarships for after school clubs. We also pay for special building projects like playground updates, and maintaining the Learning Garden and Pavilion Garden. Check out the Fundraising page to see more examples.
