Events & Programs
Our HSA volunteers work with Shady Grove teachers & administrators to organize and run several family-friendly events and student programs!Our family events are a really important way to create a strong school community. They are a great opportunity to spend time with your family, meet teachers and staff, socialize with other families, and to watch your children interact with their peers.
We also coordinate several student programs like in-school assemblies, after school clubs, and other educational opportunities like the Shady Grove learning garden. Our room parents assist teachers with classroom events like parties and special projects, and our fifth grade committee plans extra special events for our fifth graders during their final year here at Shady.
ASSEMBLIES
The Shady Grove Home & School Association also plans & coordinates 4-6 school-wide assemblies each school year. Past assemblies have included a dinosaur museum, a BMX show, a planetarium, magicians, and musical performances.A sneak peek at our upcoming assemblies:
- So Fun City will host an interactive game show featuring Social-emotional learning themes!
- Theaterworks USA will perform a musical theater performance inspired by a popular children's book
and more!
AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS
The H&SA works with outside organizations to offer after-school clubs at SGE. The organizations set the prices, maximum number of students, and weekly activities. Sign-ups are done through the H&SA and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Club sessions run for 6 weeks, in the fall, winter, and spring. They are available for grades 1-5 only unless otherwise noted.
